A visit to Royal Copenhagen's Christmas tables

Posted by on

Last week Talking Tables founder Clare Harris travelled to Copenhagen to visit supplier Flying Tiger and get a better understanding of the independent store offerings and trends in the city. During her trip she happened across Royal Copenhagan - a store offering unique, intricately crafted gifts, made from porcelain.

Each year Royal Copenhagan hosts an event at their Flagship Store, whereby vast cultural figures set their own Christmas tables under varying themes. The beloved Christmas tables highlight the traditions of the holidays, but always with a bit of edge and a sense of humor. The exhibition also inspires guests to create their own holiday decorations and table settings. The results from five groups this year are beautiful and varied:

Karen Kjaeldgaard Larsen - Recognised Danish ceramicist and designer.

Saks Potts - Design duo Catherine Sake and Barbara Potts who own the fashion brand Saks Potts.

Alberte Winding - singer, actress. author and aritst.

Lin Utzon - Artist specialising in ceramics and textiles.

Jesper Binzer - Rock musician and songwriter and singer in Danish band D-A-D
