The Top 5 Party Trends for 2024
Each year brings about an array of party trends and we've put together our five top trend predictions for 2024...
1. Pastel perfection
With 'Peach Fuzz' as this year's Pantone Colour of 2024 we can tell that dreamy pastel tones will be big this year. Pantone said: "Peach Fuzz is a heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of kindness and tenderness, communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration." This is certainly reminiscent of our own values for 2024 and we look forward to seeing pretty pastels adorn many tables and party set ups.
2. Dream of a theme
2023 saw some big trends emerge across all industries that were fuelled by some exciting cultural launches, including the Barbie movie as well as the newly adapted Little Mermaid film. We expect to see themed parties, both for kids and adults, make a big comeback this year.
The Cut wrote: "Gone are the days when a party’s cool quotient was determined by trashed living rooms sprayed with used red Solo cups, sticky spilled White Claws, and regrettable mirror selfies on your Instagram Stories. Today, we measure how wild a party is with how wacky its theme is, often witnessed through a semi-viral TikTok video complete with costumes and catchphrases. Any gathering, no matter how intimate, apparently needs a theme."
3. Sustainable soirees
From product to packaging, the public are increasingly more concerned about the eco credentials of their party purchases. They want to be able to pack them away post-party and use them again for another occasion, or know they'll truly be recycled. As a certified B Corp we are pleased to see this shift taking place, and offer eco-friendly decorations for all occasions, without compromising on quality and pleasing aesthetics. Check out our website and social channels - there are some exciting sustainable launches coming up this spring, including some gorgeous handmade felt flowers and trivets from our new fair trade supplier.
4. Disco diva
We saw disco balls and glitz start to make a comeback as a theme through 2023 and we are here for it. Especially now that Sophie Ellis Bexter's 'Murder on the Dancefloor' song has reached peak popularity again since the film Saltburn aired. People are loving the glamorous, opulent and retro vibe that disco balls and metallic decor bring to parties, and not just for new year celebrations. It's no wonder our new disco ball string lights sold out so quickly (don't worry, they back in stock).
5. Colour clash... in a good way
There was a time when party hosts would pick a colour and base their entire party look around it, as using more than one would simply be too much. Times have now changed and we are seeing people going all out with colour for their parties. From multi-coloured florals, to clashing patterns to rainbow rooms, more is more and maximalism is back for 2024. It's very much an influencer driven trend.
